De Studio Rotterdam
Movement culture stands for an embrace of different movement disciplines and the different movement practitioners. In the philosophy of a Movement culture we talk about movement in the broadest sense of the word. Movement can take different forms, or be taught through different disciplines. We embrace all and try to interact with people from different backgrounds in order to share knowledge and to be expanding both physically and mentally.
De Studio Rotterdam works from a movement approach for the body and gives you the opportunity to create a high degree of independence in regard to your training. It provides you with clear tools to analyse and strengthen your current physical and mental condition. It helps you to discover shortcomings in your sport and to work with them preventively.
My name is Sebastiaan Kerckhof, owner of De Studio Rotterdam, where I bring the knowledge of different sports under one roof, so that there can be an interaction between like-minded people.
In my lessons I mainly work from the movement philosophy Fighting Monkey. I bring you into contact with various movement situations, which have been developed to improve your ability to observe, listen and adapt to new challenges.
The structure around athletic development within my classes consists of: coordination, rhythm, kinetic potential, power and strength (FM). An essential aspect for every athlete is to tune their body in such a way that the entire structure is activated. The body forms one dynamic whole, which can react to both internal and external rhythms, which can generate sufficient kinetic potential and can connect power, strength and speed in the execution of a performance.
Content of a Movement class:
• Foster improvisation, imagination and creativity • Play games through various movement situations • Expose yourself to difficulties • Fighting Monkey • Coordination, rhythm and kinetic potential
