NL Renate's passie ligt bij de American Tribal Style® en Tribal Fusion Bellydance. Gespecialiseerd in deze stijlen heeft zij ruim 12 jaar ervaring op het podium en als dansdocent. Met veel toewijding, passie en geduld geeft zij lessen en workshops op alle niveau's onder de naam Maya Acid Bellydance.

Begonnen in 1999 met een stevige basis in de klassiek Oriëntaalse of Egyptische stijl specialiseerde zij zich in demoderne American Tribal Style® en Tribal Fusion buikdans. Zij studeerde bij de beste internationale dansers in het genre zoals Rachel Brice, Shahrazad, Carolena Nericcio, Mira Betz, Jill Parker, Mardi Love, Donna Mejia, Amy Sigil, Kami Liddle en meer. In 2007 volgde zij bij SKVR de Kaderopleiding Internationale dans. Ook werkte zij 6 jaar met The Uzumé Dance Company als danser, kostuum ontwerper en de co-produktie van het tweejaarlijkse weekend evenement Beyond Bellydance en de uitverkochte theatershow 'Worlddance Con Fusion'. Renate's eigen dansschool Maya Acid Bellydance bestaat inmiddels 10 jaar en heeft zich gevestigd in Rotterdam met wekelijkse lessen, workshops, een performance groep en eigen label voor handgemaakte kleding, performance kostuums en accessoires. Renate is daarnaast danscoach en adviseur voor de Shimmy Shake, en een muziek, butoh, dans therapie, anatomie en pralaya yoga enthousiast. Zij blijft zich ontwikkelen in zowel de buikdanskunst als haar docentschap. Met veel passie en geduld zal zij jou inwijden in de wereld van deze dans.

EN Renate' s expressive passion lies with the American Tribal Style® and Tribal Fusion Bellydance. Specialized in these styles, she has over 12 years of experience on stage and as a dance teacher. With much dedication, passion and patience she teaches classes and workshops at all levels under the name Maya Acid Bellydance.

Renate started bellydance in 1999 with a strong foundation in classic Oriëntal/Egyptian bellydance before she gravitated towards the modern American Tribal Style® and Tribal Fusion Bellydance. She specialized in these styles studying with the best international dancers in the field like Rachel Brice, Shahrazad, Carolena Nericcio, Mira Betz, Jill Parker, Mardi Love, Donna Mejia, Amy Sigil, Kami Liddle and many more. In 2007 she studied at SKVR's Kaderopleiding Internationale dans. She also worked with The Uzumé Dance Company for 6 years as a dancer, costume designer and the co-production of their two-yearly weekend event Beyond Bellydance, the biggest Fusion Bellydance event in NL untill 2012. They also produced a sold-out theatre show 'Worlddance Con Fusion' in 2007 Renate founded her own company and dance school Maya Acid Bellydance in 2007. Currently based in Rotterdam with weekly classes, workshops, a performance troupe, and her own fashion label. Renate is also a dance-coach and choreographer for Shimmy Shake, a Pralaya yoga enthousiast, performer, costume designer and music lover. And cats.
